Walk Information
On June 7, 2009, more than 3400 people from TNT mainland China International Express, TNT Hoau, TNT Direct Mail, families and friends took part in the annual event “End Hunger: Walk the World ” in 25 cities across China and successfully raised a total of RMB 175,792, which can provide 90,000+ nutritious lunches to poor children!
In Shanghai, Olympic champion Li Xiaopeng joined us to call for an end to child hunger and malnutrition around the world. So far nearly 20 media including CCTV, Xinhua News Wire and Shanghai TV station have covered the event positively.
This year, the funds raised in China will not only be used in World Food Programme’s School Feeding Project in Cambodia, but provide nutritious meals to poor children in Sichuan Province via China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.
On the same day, Walk the World mobilized an estimated 300,000 people. 200+ walks took place in 70 countries across all 24 time zones.Besides, TNT also initiated an online walk at wfp.org/walktheweb.
