TNT Actively Provides Assistance to Relief Efforts in Haiti
Since the earthquake occurred in early January, TNT has actively provided assistance to support relief efforts in Haiti. Besides offering its two aircraft, TNT also assigned an emergency response team, consisting of 2-4 employees, to the site in accordance with the WFP’s requirements. In addition, TNT raised funds among employees and has donated EUR 300,000 the WFP. On January 22, TNT’s Boeing 747 airlifted 100 metric tonnes of high energy biscuits to Miami and from there transported the biscuits to Haiti – this is the equivalent of 500,000 daily rations of food.
