Sep. 2009 On Sep. 18th, TNT started a new dedicated B747-400ER freighter service between Hong Kong and Europe, which would operate between Hong Kong and TNT’s European air hub in Liege, Belgium. The company can thus offer its customers fast transit times, control and visibility over shipments moving between Asia and Europe, while optimising its costs and fleet utilisation. TNT’s continuous investment in Asia clearly demonstrates its long-term confidence in the region and continual commitment to raise its service capabilities on behalf of its customers.
Sep. 2009 TNT was named as global ‘Supersector leader’ for ‘Industrial Goods and Services’ (including ‘Industrial transportation’) by the 2009 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). Moreover, TNT earned the highest score of the over 1,000 listed companies included in the DJSI for the third consecutive year, and achieved the highest scores in 12 out of the 16 criteria that make up the index.
Jun. 2009 On June 18, TNT inaugurated its road mega-hub in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. This state-of-the-art regional mega-hub will be operated and managed by TNT’s wholly-owned subsidiary, TNT Hoau. Covering an area of 46,620 m², the mega-hub pioneers an upgraded network operation model in Chinese domestic road distribution services, significantly improving operation capacity and efficiency. Over the next 5 years, TNT will establish of 10 regional mega-hubs to tap China’s growing domestic economy.
Jun. 2009 At 10 a.m. on 7th June, over 3,400 people from TNT China and their families and friends took part in the annual “End Hunger: Walk the World” event in 25 cities across China and successfully raised enough money to provide 90,000+ nutritious lunches to poor children. This year, the funds raised in China will not only be used in World Food Programme’s School Feeding Project in Cambodia, but to provide nutritious meals to poor children in Sichuan Province via the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.
Apr. 2009 With investment from TNT, the ground was broken on 17th April for a Hope School in the earthquake-hit area of Guangyuan City in Sichuan Province. TNT’s Post-Disaster Educational Aid Program also includes setting up 30 ‘TNT Future Leader’ libraries and sponsoring 300 high-school students in Sichuan and Gansu province through ‘TNT Future Leader’ Scholarships.
Feb. 2009 TNT-Hoau officially launched its first domestic day-definite road distribution service in China. Leveraging on TNT-Hoau’s domestic road distribution leadership position in China and TNT’s strong international road distribution expertise, this premium road service will also move the company into a new value-added arena, in terms of time, security, and service quality.
Dec. 2008 TNT China was recently ranked as one of the Top 50 Charity Companies at the 2008 First China Times Charity Forum. The Top 50 Charity Award was jointly granted by China Disabled Persons’ Federation, China Red Cross Society, China Charity Federation, China Environmental Protection Federation and China Commission of Promotion of Publicity for the Undertakings of Chinese Disabled Persons and organized by China Times, a leading Chinese business newspaper.
Dec. 2008 In late November, 12 Orange Care Ambassadors from different depots visited sponsored kids in Luxi, Ruili, Longchuan, Yingjiang and Lianghe counties in Yunnan province. They brought 500 books and items of sports equipment, purchased through the fundraising of our colleagues, and built the 5 reading corners at Longchuan No. 2 Elementary school, Luxi Zhefang Elementary School, Qingping Central Elementary School and Lukun Elementary School.
Nov. 2008 TNT China was granted the honour of receiving the ‘Green China Best CSR Practice’ Award. This award is an affirmation of TNT’s philosophy and performance in the field of corporate social responsibility. It is an accolade jointly awarded by Logistic Management, the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
Sep. 2008 TNT confirmed its leadership in 2008 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) for the industrial transportation sector and the super sector ‘industrial goods and services.
Sep. 2008 The eight new branches, most of which will be located in the Pearl River Delta area and the Yangtze River Delta area – China’s key manufacturing and export hubs. The cities covered are Dongguan, Zhongshan, Foshan, Shunde, Nanning, Wenzhou, Kunshan and Shanghai Pudong. Through this initiative TNT now has 34 international express branches in Mainland China.
Jul. 2008 TNT announced the start of the only scheduled road services between China and five countries of Southeast Asia, using its Asia Road Network. From China, international road services to Southeast Asia will first be available from the South of the country. The Asia Road Network connects to TNT’s international express network at Nanning and Guangzhou.
May. 2008 Immediately following the huge earthquake, TNT China began working with four charitable organizations to support the disaster relief efforts. These organizations are the China Charity, the China Foundation for the Alleviation of Poverty, the China Youth Development Foundation and the China Foundation for Children and Adolescents. TNT utilized its huge domestic road transport network and fleet of trucks via Tiandi Hoau to help organize supplies.
Mar. 2008 TNT China launched a new services named “10:00 Express”. This extends TNT China’s range of international core products to include three premium products: 9:00 Express, 10:00 Express (worldwide) and 12:00 Express.
Dec. 2007 TNT China was granted the ‘Investors in People’ (IiP) accreditation. It embodies TNT’s belief that excellent service can only be provided by great people and also reaffirms TNT’s commitment to developing its people and growing its talent.
Sep. 2007 TNT ranked first in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) 2007. TNT not only reached the leading position in the Transportation, but also gained the highest score of any company in the DJSI
Mar. 2007 TNT announced the completion of the acquisition of Hoau.
Jan. 2007 TNT launches Boeing 747-400 ER Freighter to Connect China and Europe Network. The new TNT Boeing 747-400 ERF flies four times a week between Shanghai and TNT's European Air Hub. The new flight links TNT's extensive network in China to its market leading European network, connecting more than 500 cities in China to over 400 cities in Europe
Sep. 2006 TNT signs the Equity Transfer Agreement with Hoau Group in Shanghai to acquire its nationwide road transport and freight business.
Mar. 2006 TNT and CYDF join hands to launch' Warm the World ' AIDS Orphans Relief Program in China, the first AIDS Orphan Relief Program in China to be jointly launched by a Fortune 500 multinational company and a Chinese NGO. It aims to provide those orphans with better educational and living conditions to ensure their healthy development.
Mar. 2006 TNT opens dedicated National Life Science Distribution Centre in Shanghai - Expansion of proven RDC approach to meet specific industry challenges in China.
Dec. 2005 TNT announces the second phase of its Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) programme, becoming the only integrator to use RFID to track shipments on a global scale.
Dec. 2005 TNT announces it is in advanced negotiations to acquire Hoau, China's leading domestic freight & parcels operator. It indicates that TNT takes a significant step to realize its ambition of becoming China's leading domestic transportation company.
Nov. 2005 TNT announces that it will lease two Boeing 747-400ERF freighters to start up a new direct service between Europe and China in 2006. The two freighters will enable the company to increase the total number of weekly trips to nine finally.
Oct. 2005 TNT launches 9:00am Express and Noon Express to China-based customers, providing first time-definite delivery express services and creating a new business category in China
Aug. 2005 TNT launches Consumer Preference Database "Eye", first of its kind in China. With the depth of information contained in "Eye", companies can now pinpoint and reach their potential customers more effectively than ever.
Apr. 2005 TNT becomes the diamond sponsor of 2005 Boao Forum for Asia to fully support Boao's mission. TNT shares Boao's commitment to explore the unfolding role of Asia in the world, and seek solutions for sustainable development in Asia.
Mar. 2005 TNT kicks off its Data Collection Campaign in Shanghai today as the initial step in building its Direct Marketing business in China.

Jul. 2004 TNT launches Internship programme, part of TNT's global Young Talent and Leadership Development Programme. TPG's CEO, Peter Bakker supported and sponsored program launched in China. As long-term program, it targets to train 20 plus interns per annum.
Jun. 2004 TNT launches 'Express Import' service
May. 2004 TNT, together with CNBC and CBN, hosted the 3rd annual Asia Business Leaders Awards in Shanghai at the Four Seasons Hotel. The Awards, touted to be the Oscars of the business world, was attended by 400 top decision makers from China and around Asia. The winner of the China CEO of the Year Award is the CEO of Datang Power.
