TNT Express extends 'Express import'service to facilitate trade with high growth markets

TNT Express (Add your country/BU name) the leading b2b express carrier, has today announced the extension of its 'Express Import'service to an additional four countries currently enjoying strong economic growth – China, India, South Korea and the Ukraine.

Express Import allows customers to use their existing TNT account to arrange collections from a client in another country and to pay for the delivery in their own rather than a foreign currency.  It also allows customers to send shipments to a receiver in another country and have the receiver pay for the transaction in their own currency.

Previously, customers in (Add name of your country/BU) had to rely on their clients in China, India, South Korea and the Ukraine to organise the shipping and payment of consignments.

Geoff Martin-Henry, Director, Product Management & Development, (or name and job title of senior local spokesperson) TNT Express said, "Express Import now allows our customers to 'pull'as well as 'push'in their dealings with clients in China, India, South Korea and the Ukraine - four countries where demand for this payment solution has been growing in recent months. The solution provides customers with a faster process and reduced handling costs as well as full track and trace capability and TNT's first-class customs expertise."

Unlike other express delivery companies, TNT's service allows customers to use their existing account number or their client's account number to initiate the complete Express Import process.  If a prospective customer wishes to use Express Import, TNT can still initiate a pick up and delivery request by issuing them with an account number following normal account registration procedures.

Geoff Martin-Henry, Director, Product Management & Development, (or name and job title of senior local spokesperson) TNT Express added, "We are constantly striving to provide our customers with flexible and intelligent delivery solutions to improve their own business efficiency and performance.  Demand for a 'receiver pays'solution has been so great that since launching Express Import in February 2003, over four and a half million consignments have been delivered using this process."
