TNT launches Economy Express in China
Shanghai, Aug 16, 2004 - TNT, a global provider of mail, express and logistics services, today announced the launch of Economy Express in China. The launch of the new service shows that TNT is dedicated to explore more and flexible services out of standard express services while providing full solution to meet various requirements of customers.
With the rapid growth of China Express market, it is forecast to be the 6th largest express market in the world by 2010 and play a key role in the international supply chain. Meanwhile, the market expansion also generates increasing customer requirements on express services. For instance, trading and manufacturing industry customers who have heavier shipment of bulk finished goods are not satisfied with the low speed of freight forwarder despite of lower price; ad hoc and small customers are not willing to pay express premium for less urgent shipments.
Against this background, TNT launches the new Economy Express service in China which is aimed at proving express service to heavier shipments over 45kg. Through the global air and road network, TNT Economy Express is able to provide door-to-door delivery within 2-5 days and allows customers to get more economical price while sharing same service, same hotline, same delivery network, same IT system, same custom clearance and same account number with standard express service. A special label of "Priority Freight" will be stuck to each shipment of Economy Express.
