Bosch Supplier Award 2005: TNT receives award for outstanding performance and quality

Amsterdam, July 7th 2005 – TNT received the Supplier Award of the Bosch Group in a ceremony at the Bosch Engineering Center for Automotive Technology in Abstatt, near Heilbronn, on July 6, 2005. With this award, Bosch acknowledges the outstanding performance of the company in the years 2003 and 2004 with respect to quality, costs, and reliability of delivery. Further criteria for the award are the preparedness of a company to further develop its products and services on a continuous basis, as well as the company's technological potential.

This year, Bosch is conferring its Supplier Award — for which companies all over the world are invited to compete — for the tenth time. The award is conferred on the company's best suppliers every two years. TNT Express provides Bosch with its services worldwide.

Last year, the Bosch Group purchased goods and services worth approximately 20 billion euros. Compared to the company's total sales of 40 billion euros in 2004, this amounts to a share of 50 per cent. The share of purchases from outside Germany in 2004 lay at 54 per cent. The company bought in finished and semi-finished goods for its manufacturing operations, especially electronic components and turned parts, as well as services, commodities, and capital goods.
