TNT China Wins 'Green China Best CSR Practice' Award
(Shanghai, November 21, 2008) Today, TNT, a leading global express and mail services provider, announced that TNT China was granted the honour of receiving the 'Green China Best CSR Practice' Award. This award is an affirmation of TNT's philosophy and performance in the field of corporate social responsibility. The panel of judges evaluated that, "TNT China consistently demonstrates its commitment to China's economic development and to continuing innovation as a company – not only in building up its brand, influence and credibility - but also in contributing to a new, sustainable CSR business model."
The 'Green China Best CSR Practice' award is an accolade jointly awarded by Logistic Management, the credible Chinese industry magazine, the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). A committee comprising 20 professionals from reputable institutes and corporations including CILT, Tsinghua University, CEIBS, GE and Honeywell voted to select those companies worthy of recognition for their achievements in philanthropic activities, disaster relief and innovations in sustainable development. The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent, not-for-profit organization. It plays a vital role in encouraging both private and public sector organizations to measure, manage and reduce emissions and their impact on climate change.
Michael Drake, managing director of TNT Greater China, said, "I am delighted that TNT has won the award. It is an achievement which makes all of us in TNT China very proud indeed.
As a leading global express company, TNT takes its corporate social responsibility seriously alongside the continuing development of its business, by utilising its expertise and resources and partnering with charitable organisations. TNT's CSR philosophy and practice are achieving increasing recognition from the international community. TNT reached the highest score of all companies included in the DJSI for the second year in a row.
