TNT Partners With CEIBS to Strengthen Corporate-Academic Collaborations
Three-year partnership inaugurated with seminar exploring how a distinctive corporate culture drives business performance in China

(SHANGHAI. 23 March, 2010) – TNT, the leading Sino-Europe International Express Company, today kicked off a three-year partnership with the China's longest running, largest and top-rated business school, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). The two entities hosted an exclusive seminar to discuss the critical role that a company's corporate culture plays in driving positive and sustainable business performance. Under the TNT-CEIBS Partnership Agreement, both organizations have pledged to provide training to TNT's senior executives and more importantly, to support the overall development of the Chinese business landscape through the exchange of knowledge and best-practices.

"Our partnership with CEIBS offers a further demonstration of TNT's commitment towards investing in our people and equipping them with the most industry-leading professional training and skills to not only become excellent employees, but to also contribute to the development of China's logistics industry," said Iman Stratenus, Managing Director, TNT China International Express. "TNT's 'Investor in People' philosophies and our 'Sure we can' corporate culture has been a critical growth engine to secure TNT's successes in China. As a company deeply rooted in China, we want to leverage on our partnership with CEIBS to share our experiences and best-practices with the industry in China."

According to the agreement, besides the provision of professional and management training to its senior executives, TNT will also leverage on CEIBS' strong talent pool in recruiting from its expertly trained graduates. In addition, TNT, with its strong Sino-Europe distribution network, will serve as CEIBS' international express provider.

"CEIBS is extremely pleased to partner with TNT to integrate the best of CEIBS' academic research capabilities with TNT's real-life business management case studies," said CEIBS Vice President and Co-Dean Zhang Weijiong. "By working directly with the most successful corporations in China and around the world, CEIBS fosters practical yet in-depth academic content, ensuring cutting-edge business management training for our students."

The joint TNT-CEIBS seminar, entitled "How We Do Things Around Here – a discussion of company culture and its impact on performance", was anchored by Dr. Dave Logan, professor with the University of Southern California, senior management consultant to numerous Fortune 500 companies and the author of several best-selling books, including The Three Laws of Performance and Tribal Leadership. Both publications have received widespread acclaim for their insights into how to maximise the productivity and profit of organisations.

As the global economy emerges from the shadows of one of the worst financial crisis in history, business leaders and experts have increasingly recognized that ensuring an effective and differentiated corporate culture is a fundamental driver for long-term, sustainable business performance. As such, this engaging and meaningful seminar aims to combine academic research, with TNT's real-life case study to discuss and explore the business impact of having a distinctive corporate culture within successful organizations in China. Other speakers at the forum include leading faculty members from CEIBS and TNT senior executives.

Since its entry into the market more than 20 years ago, TNT China's management mission has been defined by its focus on delivering an excellent customer experience through continuously investing in the training of its people. Recently, TNT launched its "Sure we can" campaign, which captures the company's 'can do' mentality and flexible and personal attitude towards getting things done, whether it is for a customer, a fellow colleague or the community at large.
