Tips on DM

DM budget

Fast, easy and precise
You can precisely determine the costs and benefits of every contact when you send out a mailing. It's one of the big advantages of DM compared with an unsystematic approach to a target group by such means as advertising. You decide in your budget exactly what your mailing may cost and what benefits it must produce.

Breakdown of costs
The costs of a mailing consist of:
  • costs of creative work (like texts and design)
  • production costs (like printing and personalising)
  • handling costs (like enclosing and preparation for dispatch)
  • distribution costs (postage)
There will also be follow-up costs, such as taking phone calls from respondents, making follow-up calls and packing and sending the requested documentation, ordered articles or free gifts.
You can spend your communication budget once only. So you need to know beforehand how much a mailing will cost you.
